
About Us
Our Charter with CMAA states:
The primary purpose of the CMAA Regional Chapters program are to extend the reach of
the national organization through the active involvement of the individual members at the
local level and to expand the benefits of CMAA membership for those residing in areas that
have adequate members and interest to support a local chapter interest.
The objectives of the chapters themselves are defined in the Standard Regional Chapter
Bylaws. These include objectives, which are intended to further the Mission of
CMAA:
To promote and enhance leadership, professionalism, and
excellence in managing the development and construction of projects and
programs."
Regional Objectives:
- Promoting and supporting the purposes and objectives of CMAA in the local design and
construction community
- Promoting and encouraging the growth of CM and the improvement of the CM practice
- Promoting CM through relationships with academic institutions and student organizations
- Providing regional activities for CMAA members.
Through these objectives SAC, and all other regional chapters, become an integral part
of the Vision for the Organization:
To be the recognized authority in managing the development and
construction of projects and programs."
Our Goals:
- Sponsoring the development and administration of the CM
Certification Program to promote practitioner competency and enhance the
status and recognition of professional construction management. Nationally,
CMAA has
almost 1,000
construction professionals who have become Certified
Construction Managers, with more individuals in various stages of candidacy for
this exciting program. The program is rigorous, requires commitment, and everyday is
becoming more valued by those we serve.
- Setting and promoting standards of professional construction management practice.
- Developing comprehensive and coordinated model forms of agreement for implementing CM as
a project delivery management program.
- Advocating and protecting the interests of the industry in the legislative, regulatory,
and judicial arenas of government at the federal, state and local levels and among related
industry organizations.
- Providing industry-wide leadership on key issues, such as qualifications-based
procurement of professional management services, professional liability insurance, safety,
and professional practice ethics.
- Conducting educational seminars, forums, and conferences and fostering research in
professional management disciplines which advance construction management practice.
- Promoting the services of the Association's corporate members through referrals to
owners and by providing a network of professional business contacts and information
resources.
